As we turn our attention to the year ahead, we’ve had our ear to the ground rounding up some of our favourite design inspo to embrace in 2025. As you know, we aren’t ones for flash in the pan fashion - so our tips are based on long lasting enjoyment rather than predicting passing trends, read on for our roundup of tips, terms and themes which we hope are here to stay.
We’ll start with the overall feel for the year. We’re delighted to see that cosy comfort is being reflected in design circles. 2025 is all about creating spaces which are warm, comforting and engaging. The Pantone colour of the year is Mocha Mousse - no, not a Costa coffee, though it sounds like it should be (!) but a warm earthy brown - our Kensington and Knightbridge Tetrad collections are en-pointe!
We love the cocooning effect of a moody palette - you’ll be embraced if you dive into the dark side. 2025 is all about saturated hues - think warm tan browns, buttery aniline leathers, deep burgundy, oxblood reds, old gold ochre and emerald greens. These colours wrap a room in warmth and make for a space you’ll never want to leave. All are fantastic choices for feature walls, accent pieces, sofas and even rugs. Why not read our blog on colour drenching to embrace the art of colour and create your own cocoon at home.
As we strive to break our device driven habits, we’re moving towards engaging spaces designed to connect with family and friends comfortably. The new year is an ideal time to refresh your living room layout with conversation in mind. We’ll be sharing more tips on this soon, but the use of accent chairs and u-shape sofas are two ways to encourage all important interaction as we rediscover the essential art of conversation.
Phew! There’s no sign of the love for quirky difference disappearing. Least not from us. We’re all for standing out from the crowd and mixing old, new and unusual - things that make you smile and bring you joy. This year it’s all about ‘Curated Maximalism’ (a slightly more pared back maximalist style) and ‘Transitional Style’ - combining the best of vintage and modern in one space. We are all for making your home unique to you - that’s why our accessories are carefully curated to be wonderfully off the wall, which gives us the perfect segway into our next top tip…
Pinterest reported a 70% increase on searches for Surrealist Decor between 2022 and 2024 - we’re obviously all slightly crackers in the best possible way. We love a little Salvador Dali, so much so that we’ve introduced a collection of surreal drip decor - the range includes everything from mirrors to side tables in aluminum and distressed gold finishes for a fabulous touch of flair. Why do we love this so? Because it’s about creating something playful and fun - and your home should make you smile.
On a broader note, art is influencing everything from furniture to accent chairs. Whose art steals your heart? We’re sharing our love of the Old Masters in our Girl with a Pearl Earring Osborn chair and accompanying limited edition cushions.
The snug is back - a cosy space tucked away, designed just for you. Open plan living is set to stay but increasingly we’re all seeing the benefits of a cosy nook of our own. We love a secret retreat and all it stands for, think cosy corners, snuggle chairs and reading nooks. Our top tip for creating a sumptuous space at home is to embrace layering: throws, sheepskins and rugs instantly transform the smallest spot into a cosy haven. Layering creates a warm, lived-in look and makes your spaces feel more intentional.
We love the way you go all in with your design choices, including wallpaper. You’ve been sending us fantastic photos of your spaces, including using your ceilings as a 5th wall. This has inspired us to go all out when it comes to perfecting patterns on our sofa designs. Pattern drenching is emerging as a key trend in 2025 and during the year ahead you’ll find us playing with pattern placement on our suites to reflect your love of the unexpected…
The ‘beautilities’ trend is all about creating beautiful and functional spaces, this sounds right up our street. A place where comfort is king with a focus on furniture that makes you feel truly at home. This ‘trend’ is one we’ve been doing all along as it seems to make perfect sense to us - that’s why we design our sofas with beauty and practicality hand-in-hand. If you like the sound of this, then why not head over to our blogs on aniline leather or Harris Tweed to learn more about the practical benefits of our upholstery options.
Luxury finishes never go out of fashion but perhaps the phrase ‘tactile texture’ gives us all more of a tangible sense of what luxury can be. We are pretty particular about how we dress our collections and appreciate that luxurious finishes not only add visual appeal but also enhance our other senses thus making every interaction with your furniture a delight. Whether it’s the buttery softness and unique scent of aniline leather, or the way that velvet imbues a richness of colour and softness of touch, these dress options create a multi-sensory environment that promotes relaxation and wellbeing.
Our tip on this trend is to never underestimate your senses when it comes to designing your home, mixing and matching textures using throws, scatter cushions, rugs and more to engage your senses beyond what your eyes see for a multi-sensory experience.
The last few months we’ve introduced Heritage Velvets into our range which perfectly compliment this sensibility - we love the combination of colour and textured corduroy. It provides a luxurious feel as the sumptuous, saturated velvet is further enhanced by a touch of timeless texture.
Most of us aren’t blessed with bucket loads of space so our rooms have to work double time. Multi-functional spaces are key, especially as so many of us work from home more than we used to. We’ve noticed the humble footstool is a rather overlooked furniture staple and multi-functional savour. We love its ability to double up as a spare seat, storage cubby or coffee table when not in use to rest tired feet. So our top tip for 2025 is to opt for a footstool over a coffee table when choosing between the two.
Statement lighting shows no sign of becoming less popular. Bold, artistic lighting pieces serve as both functional fixtures and focal points in a room. Whether it’s a chandelier positioned over a dining table or quirky wall sconces in your hallway. These serve as conversation starters while setting the ambience. In short, never underestimate the power of a glow up!
Our two last points should never be considered as trends but as we find ourselves in the era of mass production, sadly many miss out on the beauty of handcrafted furniture.
Investing wisely in well made pieces will serve you for many years to come. Our dress options are carefully selected to stand the test of time and minimise waste but we’d be naive to say that sustainability lies in material choices alone. In our view, sustainability lies in enduring design, pieces made properly from the inside out, designed to serve you and your families through the years.
And on that note we return to what we said at the beginning - trends come and go, so we say go with your gut. We wish you all the best in your design endeavours for 2025 and we can’t wait to see what you inspire us with!
