Katy and Peter welcome you to the Vintage Sofa Company. 

We are a family run business based in Calderdale. Our sofa business started almost by accident with the sale of a few vintage Chesterfields to help fund the renovations of our home and showroom - Jowler Mill. One thing led to another and here we are!

Our business philosophy is simple. We have one rule - we only sell what we love. It is very important to us that when customers visit they can enjoy beautiful, well-made, quality pieces of furniture that are good value money and will be right for their homes and family. We’re proud to stock beautiful British-made sofas, chairs, footstools, rugs and much more. These are lovingly selected and often designed by us too. If it’s not right for our home, we wouldn’t suggest it for yours. 

As a small independent business we’re keen to reduce waste, using carefully selected premium ‘end of line’ velvets, buttery natural leather hides and traditionally-made Harris Tweed to dress our beautiful sofas, armchairs and footstools. You’ll find items in stock, ready to take away immediately, as well as the ability to order bespoke items if you’ve got something particular in mind. 

Our showroom is situated between Hebden Bridge, Haworth and Halifax in the steep-sided (and stunning) Luddenden Valley. As expected from the rural location, it’s unsuitable for HGV access, but for those of you that make the visit you’ll be greeted with a cuppa (and if we’ve been baking) a slice of chocolate brownie, and best of all - a sofa showroom like no other.
