Rug Care Guide

Rug Care Guide

Our rugs are designed to be both beautiful and practical. Following these simple care instructions will help maintain their appearance and extend their lifespan.

General Care

  • Vacuum regularly using a suction-only setting. Avoid rotating brush bars where possible, particularly on high-pile rugs.
  • Loose fibres may appear during the first few weeks of use. This is normal and will reduce with regular vacuuming.
  • Rotate your rug every 3–6 months to promote even wear.
  • Protect the rug from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to minimise fading.
  • We recommend using an anti-slip underlay on hard floors to improve stability, protect flooring and extend the life of your rug.

Cleaning

  • Blot spills immediately using a clean, dry, absorbent cloth.
  • Do not rub spills, as this may spread the stain or damage the fibres.
  • For stubborn stains, use a mild carpet or upholstery cleaner suitable for the rug's material. Always test on an inconspicuous area first.
  • Avoid soaking the rug or using excessive water.
  • Professional cleaning is recommended for a deep clean when required.

Safety & Maintenance

  • Keep away from direct heat sources and open flames.
  • Do not use bleach or harsh chemicals.
  • Do not machine wash unless the product is specifically described as machine washable.
  • Ensure the rug is completely dry before placing it back on the floor after cleaning.

Natural Characteristics

Slight variations in colour, texture and size are a natural characteristic of the manufacturing process and make each rug unique. Every rug is individually produced and may display natural variations in colour, texture and finish.

For rugs with a distressed or vintage design:

  • Variations in colour and shading are intentional.
  • Small printed speckles, markings and distressed detailing form part of the design. These characteristics give each rug its unique appearance and are not considered faults.

After Unpacking

  • Your rug is supplied rolled for safe transportation.
  • Temporary creases or ripples may be visible when first unrolled. This is normal and will naturally relax over time with regular use.
  • To help the rug settle more quickly, gently roll it in the opposite direction or place light weights on the corners.
  • Avoid folding the rug, as this may create additional creases.
